Iperdome Announces World-Wide Visibility for the ".per" Domain

ATLANTA, Sept. 24, 1997 /PRNewswire/ -- Iperdome, Inc. (http//www.iperdome.com), a new company formed specifically to offer Personal Domain Names under the ".per" Top Level Domain (TLD), today announced immediate world-wide visibility for the ".per" domain.  This has been achieved through relationships with several ISO Country Code TLDs, including the ".to" TLD.

Iperdome clients can now use their Personal Domain Names in many variations.  The ".per.to" domain works for everyone world-wide, while the ".per" TLD continues to work for clients who have access to a Private Root Server System.  Other ISO Country Code TLDs have been arranged or are being discussed, and will be announced shortly.

"What we are seeing is the free market respond to the name space controversy in a way that works within the existing system" said Jay Fenello, President of Iperdome.  "Regardless of what happens with the U.S. Commerce Department's process, the Congressional hearings scheduled to begin tomorrow, the multiple pending lawsuits, and the technical and political delays that have plagued the IAHC process, we remain confident that the free market will prevail."

In related news, Iperdome also announced a channel partner program for ISPs that focus on the consumer Internet access market.  Through this program, affiliated ISPs will be able to offer Personal Domain Names as a value-added part of their access, email and web hosting service offerings.

To further support these announcements, Iperdome is seeking an experienced CEO as well as technical personnel to assist with its continued growth and development.  Interested candidates should forward resumes to resume@Iperdome.com.

Iperdome has been active in the new registry industry, and has recently aligned with companies like Network Solutions, Inc. and PSINet, Inc. to oppose the IAHC proposal.  Iperdome strongly supports open discussions aboutInternet governance, and is a leading supporter of free-market based solutions for the Internet.
